For the A.P. Forest Subordinate Service, the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has issued Notification No. 06/2025, dated 14/07/2025, regarding the hiring of Forest Beat Officers (FBO) and Assistant Beat Officers (ABO).

Details of the vacancy:
Total Openings: 691 Positions
256 positions as Forest Beat Officers (FBOs)
435 positions for Assistant Beat Officers (ABOs)
Educational Qualifications:
Must have passed an approved board’s Intermediate Examination or its equivalent.
Age Limit (as on July 1, 2025):
18 years old is the minimum age.
30 years old is the maximum age.
Age relaxation is applicable per the regulations (5 years for SC/ST, BC/EWS, and 10 years for SC/ST openings in CF).
Physical Requirements:
For Males: Height: 163 cm, Chest: 84 cm (expanded by 5 cm)
For females: Height: 150 cm, Chest: 79 cm (expanded by 5 cm)
Candidates from the hill and ST areas are exempt. Walking Exam (Eligibility):
Men: 4 hours, 25 kilometers
Women: 4 hours, 16 kilometers

- Use One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) to sign up.
- Complete the application online.
- Pay the application fee and submit it.
Application and Exam Cost:
Rs. 250/- is the application processing fee.
Rs. 80/- is the examination fee.
Exempted Groups: Unemployed Youth, White Card Holders, SC/ST/BC/EWS, and Ex-Servicemen
Method of Selection:
OMR-based screening test, if applications exceed 200 positions
Primary Assessment
Physical Examination (Medical and Walking)
The CPT, or Computer Proficiency Test
Reservation and Local Requirements:
80% of the positions have been set aside for local applicants.
All available seats in Scheduled Areas are reserved for local ST candidates.
